The app for controlling B&D’s smart products was built on an outdated code base, so we were tasked with a complete rebuild and redesign.
The main challenge was preserving all the app’s functionality developed over its 7-year history, while also overhauling its UI and UX. It was essential that existing users could transition smoothly to the new app without any disruptions.
In addition, Dulux manages five other brands, so a key design goal was to create a flexible design system that would allow for easy rebranding across all products when necessary.
Once the visual direction was set, we explored different approaches to the UI and UX, developing a variety of concepts to bring the refreshed look to life.
